Wireless Networking - Hibernation

Default Hibernation

I have a Netgear wireless router and a Belkin Wireless card. I can
never set my laptop to Hibernate or use Standby because when I come
out of hibernation etc wireless card does not connect, so I have to
restart my computer. I might as well have shut down in the first
place, which is frustrating it would be nice to be able to be able
to carry on where I left off without having to restart all the time.
Anyone any ideas what the problem could be? I have also been trying
to get my laptop to talk to my printer which is connected to my
Desktop PC in the other room without success. I believed I would be
able to do by creating a Network but whenever I've tried I seem to
get nowhere. I would be grateful for any help anyone could give.
Lynn

Hi
Many laptop have a dual, or triple settings for standby. BIOS, Laptop's
Brand software, and Windows.
All you can do is uncheck the power saving of the Wireless Card, and take
the Network activity out of the Standby Loop in all of the settings.
If it does not help, then it is a problem with the specific Wireless
Hardware, unfortunately some are behaving this way while being put to
"Sleep", and you would have to live with it.

Hi Lynn Jack has some pages that might help in setting up your network,

You might also want to check out the network troubleshooter by MVP
Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it and it will usually
pinpoint the problem area(s) - http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm
