Default laptop to home computer networking


laptop to home computer networking

hi
i have a laptop with wifi.
i have a home computer with a usb wifi.

my question is this, can i connect both comps by wifi, without having a
router.?


i know that if i want to use them on the internet, then i need a router, but
what about computer to computer.

Sure. It's called an ad hoc network. You will only be able to use WEP
security (rather than WPA). This is an old article, but the principles
remain the same:
