downloading with IE 6 uses firefox

I set someone up with firefox 2.0, but he heard about that pasword stealing
exposure and went back to ie 6.

But IE6 still uses Firefox download manager to do the downloads.

Is there a way to set it back to use the windows/ie default?

I know there are download managers available, just don't know where the
settings are in windows to control which one is used.
