wwan and view available networks

I have a wwan NIC which is exposed as 802.3 NIC. Even though the physical medium is returned as that for wireless wan, when one right clicks on the wwan network connection in the tray icon, "view available networks" option shows up but it does not show any wwan networks. Is there any way to disable this option when one right clicks on the wwan network connection in the tray icons?
