Media disconnected; ip address 0.0.0.0

i got a message when tried to connect to the network
"media state,media disconnected"....the ip addressis 0.0.0.0 and the
strange part is the MAC address of the wireless LAN Mini PCI Card
[00.00.00.00]
when the winsock catalouge was reset and TCP/IP... was reset still the ip
address came as 0.0.0.0

strange issue ---know how the problem was resolved.....
when the network type was change from TCP/IP to UPnP...the correct MAC
address was reflected by the wireless card .Then the ip address was assigned
manually and connection started.

perhaps this issue got resolved but how????????????don`t ask me....TELL ME
