I just took the 70-270 test yesterday (scored a 921).
If I go the MCSE 2000 route, is it going to be obsoleted
anytime soon? I didnt see any dates on microsoft's site
about it. With Vista coming out soon I dont want to run
the risk of them obsoleting the Cert before im finished with it.
Anyone know how much time Id have?

They usually bring out the list of exams they are going to retire in June.
After an exam is on the list it is available for 1 year. I believe this is
true maybe someone can verify.

Think about it, if they were to yank the cert tomorrow, would that mean that
EVERY business in the world would have to stop using the software,
immediately?

As Jetter once said in microsoft.public.cert.exam.mcse

You should certify in what you know and/or are using.

Are you using 2k?

If this is a prepare for the future kind of thing, I would
shoot for at least 2k3.

We still use 2k, but that's only becuse we're afraid of change.

Windows 2000 support finished last year. The certification will never
expire, instead it will show experience in an older operating system. The
MCSE NT4 is still valid, as is an MCP in Windows 95. There's just not much
call for either any more. Mind you, the Australian Defence Force has only
this year gone fully to Win XP/Win 2003 from NT4, so there's still support
work around!
You've sat the first exam for the MCSE 2003 track, keep going that way.
