I have even tried setting the alternate TCP/ IP address page to a fixed address, but it even loses this. The card is "managed " by the Belkin wireless utility but WZC is also running and tries to acquire the address at boot up, If I disable WZC as recommended by ezlan.net, the Belkin utility exit also. I then cannot restart the Belkin utility until I enable WZC, then if I try and get WZC to manage the connection I get the message that Windows cannot do this and I must use the software that came with the card. Any suggestions? Mike H . |

I did a quick search on the Belkin site and based on page 15 of the manual
my guess is Belkin did not choose to write drivers that support WZC. I would suggest that you contact Belkin Tech support and see if they tell you it should work. Hi
I am not familiar with Belkin's card (I have Belkin Routers, but No cards). However, what you describe does not appear to be "Normal" Behavior. I would suggest that you log to Belkin's support and look for the card page and the faq (if any), or and contact Belkin Support Jack (MVP-Networking). May I suggest looking for the file F5D7010-WPA Addendum.pdf (if that's the adapter you're using) on the Belkin site? : Setting up WPA in Windows XP : : In order to use WPA, ensure you are using "Windows wireless network : utility" instead of "Belkin Wireless Utility" by doing the following: : : 1. Under Windows XP, click "Start > Control Panel > Network : Connections". : : 2. Right-click on "Wireless Network Connection", and select : "Properties". : : 3. Clicking on the "Wireless Networks" tab will display the following : screen. Ensure the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network : settings" box is checked. |
