Default No Wireless Networks Tab?

I run Windows XP Professional on an IBM Thinkpad with an Intel/PRO wireless card. Up until now, it has always worked fine. Ijust ran into a problem over the past few days, though.

You see, I moved to a new apartment and, no longer having a router since the last one was my roommate's, I went out and bought my own. Fine, no problem. However, once I set it up, I found that I could no longer find any wireless networks through Network Connections. What's more, when i went to the Properties of my Wireless card, there was no Wireless Networks tab! How can that be? it was there just a few days ago!

I was able to sign on for a bit using IBM's Access connections, but the network would always crap out and that method eventually stopped working too.

Any suggestions? Thanks for any help!
