Hi
I have a WRT300N V2.0 that works like it should against the internet. I have two computers connected by wireless to this router. They are assigned ip-addresses 192.168.1.102 and 192.168.1.105. Both can reach the internet. What I would like is to be able to run remote desktop from one to the other. The problem is i can not even ping one from the other. Both can ping the router on 192.168.1.1 but i am not able to ping 192.168.1.102 from 192.168.1.105. It is almost as if when i run ping, it runs it on the internet instead of the local network. Both computers run Win XP SP2 with firewall turned OFF. Any ideas to what I could be doing wrong? jostein.solstad@gmail.com |

It sounds like your firewall is not turned off, is it possible you are
running another firewall, than the built in firewall? Perhaps your antivirus program has internet worm protection? I suggestion trying this page by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it and it will usually pinpoint the problem area(s) - http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm My New Wireless does not work - http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html -- David Hettel Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. I'm sorry, but I don't answer questions addressed directly to me in E-mail or news groups.
