Default Japanese Kanji - Firefox

How do I get Firefox to display Shift-JIS encoded kanji characters?

For example, on http://dento.cc/mokkou/index.htm I can see the kana but
just have a rectangle with the encoding (Unicode, I presume) for each
kanji character.

Do you have the fonts installed? I can tell you how it's done with
Windows XP, but not Linux, which is what you seem to be using.
