After recently moving to a new home, I've had to set up my PC as a wireless
connection where before it was originally an ethernet connection. I don't have clue as to what to do. Can anyone provide some help? What more information do you need from what's listed below? WinXP Media Center 2005 Linksys WRT54G router Linksys WUSB54G adapter =?Utf-8?B?Um9obiBTdGFycg==?= |

Here is Microsoft's article "4 steps to set up your home wireless network"
to get you started: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/more...lesssetup.mspx It covers the basics and should be easy to follow. -Dan "Rohn Starr" <Rohn > wrote in message news:47481210-23FA-41BA-A153-... > After recently moving to a new home, I've had to set up my PC as a > wireless > connection where before it was originally an ethernet connection. Actually, I've done all that. The problem is that I can't connect to the
network. I'm receiving the following message in the same box as shown in the article you referred me to: "Unsecured wireless network. You are currently connected to the network. To disconnect from this network, click Disconnect." But the upper right part of the box says 'Not Connected'. Any help? Or did you skip that step? What happens if you click "disconnect"? What do you see if you right-click the wireless network icon in the notification area and select "status"? -- Lem -- To the moon and back with 64 Kbits of RAM and 512 Kbits of ROM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer MS-MVP |

So it says that you're connect, but that you're not connected - that's
interesting. You'll probably have to go through your settings for your wireless card, and your router and make sure that all of the settings are correct. There is some good information on the EZLAN website: www.ezlan.net Here are some areas where you can start: Wireless - Basic Configuration: http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Config.html Configuring Wireless Security for small Network: http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Security.html Setting Windows Zero Configuration (WZC): http://www.ezlan.net/wzc.html Other than this I would suggest to read the manuals for the router and wireless card to see how to configure them properly. -Dan "Rohn Starr" <> wrote in message news:B7886E2F-1554-4B07-A1C7-... > Actually, I've done all that.
