Hello I have a Cisco 837 router and an ISP that will assign me up to 4
dynamic IPs.

The router is configured with pppoa dialer and using NAT to server the
internet to my network, though I have a requirement to have one machine
on the network get direct access, and would like to use raspppoe to
create a second VC I guess you can call it and get a second dynamic IP.

Any cheapo off the shelf dlink/linksys/netgear with modem built in can
do this by default. ie using its inbuilt pppoe/a client and serve the
network with NAT and then use raspppoe on a desktop machine and get a
second IP.

The app im using requires an interface on teh machine and the ports are
very broad and dynamic so PAT is out of the question.

This works perfectly with a dlink 504G out of the box, but I have nfi
how to configure an 837 to behave the same. Obviously youd use a 837
over a dlink if you had one.
