Well Joe, you've got to know that the CMITAs will get very rigorous and put
you through some grueling times. I've never been to one my self, but I've
talked to some pretty smart people that have been through them, and they
couldn't pass the Academy.

From what I gathered from talking to the people, if you don't go it with a
great knowledge of the track already, you're going to have a pretty tough
time. That's not to say that *you* personally will, all I'm suggesting is
that you ask questions before you jump into any huge committment like that.

It cost me the MCSE-Security 2003 around £8K GBP = $16K USD inc VAT.

I cannot help but think that it is a lot of money. As I said in Canada the
courses are $2500 each, and I would be surprised if the US was that much more
expensive. I would shop around to see what other Microsoft Certified
Partners for Learning Solutions are out there, and compare what you get and
what they cost.

Good luck!

It's not that the US is that much more expensive, the place he is looking to get
trained is a Microsoft Certified IT Academy. They supposedly stand head and
shoulders above any Microsoft Certified Partner or Microsoft Certified Gold
Partner.

I understand and respect that... but in the army we had an axiom: Good enough
is ALWAYS good enough, and perfect is usually not worth the hassle. If he
needs it then good, but if not it is a LOT of money!

If I tell a human that his 4-corner head (nose, 2 ears and back corner) has
only a 1-corner face, the dumb-a** will say to me - "prove it". He knows not
that his face is a corner.
