I use the software that came with the disk from Apricorn. The actual name of the routine is CloneEZ. I got the whole idea and Apricorn info on another newsgroup, and now can't find the original message. The guy who posted it, though, was using some different software, so I am guessing that there must be some out there. The CloneEZ works for me. At the end of the backup (done from bios) it waits until I hit any key and then shuts the computer down. At that time turn off the external drive and unplug the USB connector, because if you boot with it live there will be two identical copies of your system and I have been told that some amount of chaos develops. If I connect to the external drive and turn it on, and wait, I will get a folder window on the screen with all the external drive contents, and I can go anywhere and pick up a file, but restoring my system with all software installed, configured, and with all the passwords and codes requires running CloneEZ and specifying the reverse direction.
