Default file & printer sharing probs-XP2

I ran the wizards on both host/client computers but can't see the client
computer on the workgroup of the host or vice versa

Also, I went to Computer-Tools-files-view and do not have a box to check for
"turn simple sharing" on.

I've marked the file to be shared but can't see them on the other computer.

I only run Windows Firewall and have AVG

Thanks

K

Hi
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what is allowed
to be shared.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for your reply. I did go to your website before but got hung up.
Where do I find: "Most Software Firewalls have a Settings that allow you to
insert a range of Local IPs that should not be blocked (It is usually called
Trusted Zone, Intranet or Private Zone, etc.). Insert the IPS range of your
computers to the Firewall appropriate Menu. E.g. 198.168.1.1 – 192.168.1.50
such a setting will free from Firewall blocking any local computer with an IP
between 198.168.1.1 to 198.168.1.50. "

I am running XPoffice-XP2 using Windows Firewall and AVG. I don't see
anywhere a "trusted zone....etc"

Thanks again.

Karen
PS. Now that I've found this forum again, I'll monitor it closer for any
response. :0)
