I've a Cisco 6509 in IOS full with a 8 GBIC module (WS-X6408-GBIC).

When no FO is connected, There is something strange when I type the
command : "show ip interface brief" :

Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
Gi1/1 unassigned YES unset up down


Do you know why the "hardware" status is "UP" whereas nothing is
connected to the GBIC ????

this status is "normal" I've tested in lab !
