How to access web.sitemap file from other virtual directories other than the current application root folder?

I have website1 and website2 in asp.net 2.0, I am trying to access the
web.sitemap file of website1 from website2. I am getting "Failed to
map the path" error. If we go into more details, I am trying to load
the web.sitemap file by giving path "/website1/web.sitemap" as
XmlDataSource for menu creation.

Any ideas?
