shared internet connection

I am hooking up my laptop to an ethernet high speed internet connection. I
wish to use the wieless built-in to connect and share the internet connection
to other wireless laptops. I am on vacation and do not have a router
available. I run the network setup on the internet laptop and all goes
apparently well. My other laptops cannot see this laptop in a site survey of
wireless networks, nor does this laptop see the other computers.
