Hi. I'm interested in the MCSA certification, but am unsure if I should
wait until the Longhorn / Vista exams become available. I dont want to invest all the time / effort / expense in something that will not be valid for as long. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion. -Chris cbullock@columbiacomputers.com |

Not be valid long?
I wonder how many computers are still running Win98. I think XP will be around a long time Richard...IMHO <> wrote in message news: ups.com... > Hi. Hi, I guess you'll have to wait for a long time...I just got my MCSE in
2003, at least in Brazil and other countries than USA, NT and 98, as well as 2000 are still being used...Microsoft will probably release the new exams to these new products in 2008! And if you get certified now you'll just need one exam to upgrade your certification... Best Regards, Vanessa Curcio, MCT Rio de Janeiro, Brasil <> wrote in message news: ups.com... > Hi. Though I agree that the MCS certs will be good for years to come (though
support for Windows NT and 98 are defunct Server 2000 will be supported through 2008 or 2009, and Server 2003 will be supported into the next decade. It is not a waste! Having said that the exams for Longhorn are being prepared as we speak and will be ready before the end of the year. As well there will not be a single upgrade exam from MCSA or MCSE to MCITP. Good luck! The beta exams will start to trickle in around the 4th quarter of 2006. As
for my last statement, I have since read conflicting reports that there MIGHT be an upgrade path, but it is not clear yet.
