I have a few Catalyst 2950 and 4506/4503 switches and they all are
have a common problem (btw I am running IOS v12.1(19)EW1:

when a link is unplug from the switch, the cosole doesn't log nor does
it log into the buffer (i have both loggin console debugg and logg
buffer 50000 debug).

Is that normal or how can I regain the message when a switch port is
down?

Do a show logging.

If it does not show that logging is on, you may need to do a "logging on"

logging is on. any ideas?
