I am having difficulty connecting to the VPN within XP,the error
message states
"Failed to establish a secure connection to the security gateway." It
works fine on Windows 2000.

I have disabled IPSec service and removed ICS but still refuses to
connect is there anything I'm missing.

Any help would be great!

It might be the version of the Cisco VPN Client you are using. I had similar
problems with some versions but am now using 4.0.3 (A) and that works fine.

Try downloading another version of the client software

I am also having difficulty connecting to the Cisco VPN 4.0.3 which I
believe is the latest version out, but I only have problems with some
Windows XP machines. Other users in our network can connect, but some
cannot. I tried changing the SetMTU to 1200 and it I was actually able
to connect but then it would lock up on me after a while. You can try
that and see if it works for you, but if you find something else that
worked, please let me know. Thanks and Good Luck!

I had trouble with 4.0.3 on WIN2K but I was able to make some initial
connections - I must have installed some new software at some point and it
quit working - I dropped back to 4.0.1 and no problems so far.
