[OT] My work WWW going away

I have, over the years, created some specialized technical resources on
my work WWW sites http://www.ibd.nrc.ca/~roberson and
http://www.ibd.nrc.ca/~sgi . These items have been mostly of historical
interest; my Cisco PIX models comparison page is one of the few new and
active pages I have.

I regret to say that I will be deactivating all those pages effective
midnight tonight.

Sorry, but it is not practical to bring the pages into compliance with
the Canadian Government-wide "Common Look and Feel" (CLF) standards,
and the bilingualism requirements in particular. None of the
exemptions are applicable to pages intended for the "public" at large.

I am working on finding another home for the pages, and hope to
bring them back online within a few weeks. I am investigating
changing ISPs and self-hosting.

I've got a place you could put it if you want. No charge, hate to see
good information go to waste! It isn't an IRIX box and it isn't in
Canada though...

Walter,

I hope you'll soon find a home for your pages. They have been, and
will continue to be quite useful to those of us who are hobbyists
trying to keep old SGI's running the old versions of IRIX (somtimes
required, as for the Crimson & PowerSeries boxen, er, crates).

Best wishes for the new year,
Michael
