OK,
I installed xp pro service pack 2 why? I don't know..but it was there for
the taking....

When I use Outlook to read my mail I get a LDAP box that says it cannot
connect to a "Null" server. I click ok or cancel and it goes away. That's
not too annoying, but when I try to compose a new email, and try to use my
address book, I get an error message that has LDAP messages as well as some
active directory verbiage. It takes about 15 seconds for this to process and
allow me to go to my address book or personal contacts. Can I change a
setting to keep the system from trying to access active directory?

I am using a stand alone laptop that is not connected to a network.

Thanks!!!!
Kyle

try this:

go to tools, E-mail Accounts, View or change existing directories or address
books, click "next". Select the LDAP service and click Remove.
