System tells my my hd must be formated

I removed a slave hd from my computer and plugded it on another one. I could
see the files. When I plugded back on the firt computer, it told me to
reformate my hd drive and could not see anything on it. XP tells me that the
system files are "raw". I presume their is something wrong with the boot
sector.
Any hope of recovering these files?
