printer running wild

My printer runs wild .. It grabs up papers and prints computer jargon
in no pattern. similar problem in the past and this site blamed the
printer driver and suggested a fix which worked. However, I did't write
it down and now need the same corrective advice. Thanks. Bill

Had a similar problem with a printer a while ago,and the problem was sorted
by either changing the printer port setting in bios, or it was a setting in
the properties of the the printer in windows; not sure which.

If the printer hasn't been switched off for a while pull the power plug and
leave it out for a few minutes. Printer memory can sometimes get corrupted
and this clears it.
