cant install yahoo messanger

this might be a windows xp related issue, but not sure.
yahoo messanger was crashing a ton with some errors, i don't know what they
were. then i un installed and tried re instaling. when i try to reinstall it
will not. it says no app was selected durring the install. i select normal
install of yahoo messanger. custom so messanger only is installed, everytime
it says nothing was installeed cus i did not select anything. i don't get
what the heck is wrong and the only thing i can think of is a reinstall
windows fix.
what is the problem? any ideas?

dont know mate, maybe try a systems restore, ie restore the pc back a date
to when all was normal
(if there is such a thing ) give that a go.

i have no clue when things were normal, days ago, but no clue when. and i
have already un installed it so that won't help. but maybe i'll restore if i
can, to say 3 days ago and see if that does anything, but i doubt it.
