Hello I am having trouble with my PC.
It's a: HP Windows XP PC Desktop Version 1.8 (2001) I recently purchased the 6 system recovery disks from HP. When I TUrn on my PC, it says: "NTLDR is missing, press ctrl, alt, delete to restart." I press it, and the same thing comes up over and over again. I also try to press F10 and it takes me to the built in System Recovery, i do an advanced recovery and it starts loading then it stops and gives me these various errors: 1.) A thread tried to release a resouce it did not own. 2.) c000021a {Fatal System Error} My question is, what does all this mean and how can i get around it? Shawn NetSAFE Administration |

Put the Windows XP CD into your CD-ROM drive and get your system to boot off
of it. Allow setup to begin and when asked Press R to go to the Recovery Console, (NOT Automated System Recovery). When asked which Windows User Account your want to login as, type "1" (no quotes). When asked for the Administrator password, type it in if you set one. If not then just hit Enter. When that is done type in (without quotes) "copy D:\i386\ntldr C:\" You have to copy this EXACTLY AS TYPED HERE. If your CD drive that contains the Windows CD is not drive D then replace the D with an E, or whatever letter has been assigned to that drive (e.g: E:\i386). The slashes must be all backslashes, NOT forward. ( "\" NOT "/") Once this is done restart your computer. (At this time you can take the Windows CD out of the CD-ROM drive) NetSAFE Administration wrote: > Hello I am having trouble with my PC. > > It's a: > HP Windows XP PC Desktop > Version 1.8 (2001) > > I recently purchased the 6 system recovery disks from HP. > > When I TUrn on my PC, it says: > > "NTLDR is missing, press ctrl, alt, delete to restart." > I press it, and the same thing comes up over and over again. > > I also try to press F10 and it takes me to the built in System > Recovery, i do an advanced recovery and it starts loading then it > stops and gives me these various errors: > > 1.) I recently ordered the "7 WinXP System Recovery CDs" to recover my HP
Desktop PC. When I turn my computer on, I press F1 at HP Image Page, It takes me to AwardBOIS page. I then go to the "boot" option, I choose the CD-R option an move it up to top of list. Then I put System Recovery Disk #1 in and press F10. Then on a different page, I press "r" then "f" and it starts the system recovery. It loads for a while then it goes to the blue screen/white text error message, the errors it gives me is: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA What I wanna know is: Am I doing something wrong? Is there a problem with my PC that may be causing this? How do I fix this? I am not very technical educated with Computers, so I need some easy ways, if there is a hard way, i'll give it a try. Please Help me out, and ty! Shawn |

1. Have you (or has someone else) installed any new hardware in your
computer recently? If so, find out what piece of hardware was installed and get them to remove it, as it may be defective. If not then see number 2. 2. Go back to Recovery Console and type in "Chkdsk /p /r" (no quotes). Once it is done try and boot up normally. No. Do not try to go to the BIOS. Put your Windows XP Install CD in and boot
from it. When you put in the Windows XP Install CD, (not the System recovery Disks, you have to use the Windows XP install CD) after it's done loading everything and asks you if you want to Install Windows, Go to the Recovery Console by pressing R, or some other task, Press R to go to the Recovery console. Once there wait until it asks what Windows User Account you want to log in under, type in "1" (no quotes). It then asks for a password, if you don't have one press Enter, if you do, type it in. Then you should see a command prompt that says C:\WINDOWS\ When you see this type in "chkdsk /p /r" (no quotes) and wait until it is done. The restart your computer and let it boot normally. Whether you can boot normally or not post back so I know how you did. "Officer HC0001A" <> wrote in message news:7226-4081ACF1-... > by recovery consoule, do you mean the, AwardBIOS area?
