How do I Track down the Source of Email?

I'm just curious as to how to track down the source of a strange email I
just received. There were no attachment s to it,....it simply said "Help".

I think the start of your message is a Verizon Text Message and I think the

Wow! How did you figure out the phone #? I recieved a text msg from an email address and when I tried to reply I got the same error msg on my cel phone. Is there a way to track down the phone #? The error msg was njbdmta [6.174.3.21]

I just pinged the IP address...66.174.3.21 and it came from somewhere in Newark NJ. I have spoken with Verizon, and they think these are spam messages, and advise not responding to them. It lets the sender know you are reading them.
