Default Help!

My radeon 9600 pro's gpu fan died recently so i went to frys and picked up a
Vantec Iceberq, got home, CAREFULLY removed stock fan, few tiny flakes of
old cooling pad was on the gpu, i didnt want to risk scratching it so i left
it alone, put a dab of thermal goo on and attached the vantec, my problem is
that when i turn on my rig now i have terrible artifacts, playing games the
graphics are ripped and jagged, insane garbled picture, did i kill my card
by swapping in the new cooler?also ever since this happened my onboard LAN
has stopped working, and showing up in the network connects, mobo is a Abit
NF7-S, i also installed a volcano 7, but im an ace at putting h/s on...ive
checked and reseated it about 20000 times....

ESD damage (from your handling) is a possibility...more likely is heat
damage from when the old fan died until you NOTICED the old fan had died.
Another possibility, is breaking the bonding wires (internal) on the IC.
And a final possibility is that the new fan you got and installed isn't
providing adequate cooling due to its specs or improper installation (all
the old heat sink compound should have been removed). Since the device
still essentially works, I'd say #2 & #4 possibilities are the most likely
and would try either re-installing the fan you got (properly) or getting a
replacement from ATI.

Well, ive removed the vantec and gently cleaned everything from the gpu, and
reseated the vantec, i have a temp sensor on the fan and its reading 24c so
it is getting proper cooling, but the picture is still extremely messed up,
ill probably end up buying a new card since my warrenty ended a month ago.

You might have just nicked the VPU, or something, that silicone is
delicate and you need ever square millimeter of it.
