ethernet adapter

I've installed a D-Link ethernet adapter (model DFE-530TX) on my Windows XP
system but once installed doesn't work. When I check in the device manager
file I find a message that "this device cannot start - Code 10". D-Links'
tech support is closed on weekends and their web page doesn't give any help.

Anyone have any ideas on a solution? Thanks.
