I had a quick Q you guys might help me with. I have a 1Gig athlon
computer here that I plan on doing something with, but it has onboard
video, and an empty 2x AGP slot. I have also have a spare 4x AGP video
card lying around. Will the 4x work in 2x (I know 8x works in 4x, but
wasn't sure about this one.)

AGP cards are backwards compatable so 2, 4 or 8x will work in a 2x board

Not entirely true. A 4x AGP slot will take a 1, 2, 4 or 8x card. An 8x
slot will take only a 4x or 8x card. A 1x/2x slot will take only a 1x, 2x,
or 4x card.
