For one. It is NOT a virus. It is distributed as a Trojan and/or adware.

The question can go for all the OTHER web sites distributing malware deliberately.

Yeah, I know the difference between a virus and a trojan horse (thanks
to that nice computer security course I took in college) but since the
effects of the malware is pretty much the same, I'm not going to bother
to make the distinction. An infection is an infection whether it's
caused by a virus or a bacterium.

But anyway, I thought the government in an effort to avoid
hypertechnical arguments about what is and is not a "virus" -- or a
"worm" or a "Trojan horse," etc. and whether they differ from "viruses"
-- outlawad the transmission of a program, information, code, or
command that "cause[s] damage to a computer, computer system, network,
information, data or program." I think it was 18 U.S.C. Sec.
1030(a)(5)(A).

Usually, nobody knows the source of malicious code, but if this company
is flagrantly causing havoc-- we know who's behind it-- you'd think
that the Feds would shut them down. Sureely somebody must have
complained by now. I don't see why this company hasn't been stopped.

Which government ?
U.S.C. -- United State Code.

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=Amaena.com

Chernigov, NA 14032, UA

That's not the USA !

I can post *more* Domains the are deliberately hosting malware. Many are registered in the
Russian Federation. many have the Registrars in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn NY (aka; little
Odessa).

Do I have to spell it out for you WHO this is ? his is something I don't like discussing in
public.

Now YOU stated this thread and asked "...Can anyone tell me what's going on here and is
there
some way to stop my browser from being hijacked..." and I have provided a set of tools for
you to clean your PC of the indicated malware.

And the end of that post, I included...

Please Copy and Paste the contents of the HTML Log files;
C:\mcafee\Normal_ScanReport.HTML & C:\mcafee\Safe_ScanReport.HTML in your reply.
