Hi Yar - Well, depends on what you mean by "causing problems". They will
certainly cause problems with respect to the proper functioning of the
capabilities they were installed to support, but disabling them won't crash
your system or otherwise impede normal functioning of IE (as long as they
are properly disabled, of course - use BHOCop, still available free here:
http://www.pinwire.com/downloads-cat-6.html or BHODemon 2.0, here:
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm. The first will let you
save and restore different configurations of BHO's [this can be useful when
trying to determine if BHO's are interfering with each other] while the
latter can also sit in your tray and monitor for the addition of new
[possibly malware] BHO's to your system if you wish. Both are Recommend.)

BHODemon posted by Jim Byrd is the software to remove malware BHOs.
It will also help protect against them when running resident.
