Default ActiveX controls not installing

Hello. I've been dealing with this issue for quite some time. There are a
few sites I visit where the yellow "Install activex control" bar should load
but it doesn't. I have tried changing several setting, but no matter how
many privileges I give the browser, the yellow warning bar does not appear.
I'm running WinXP SP2 with all the latest updates, I'm also running Zone
alarm, and Mcafee Virus scan 8.0. But as I mentioned, I tried shutting them
down while getting it to install, but no luck. I would deeply appreciate
any help anyone could give. Thanks!

I can't help, For security reasons I run an activeX incapable browser.
I honestly cannot think of any possible reason I would want to re-enable
that which I have strove to eliminate.

I recommend an ActiveX incapable browser for browsing. The only folks I
know which are using ActiveX are Microsoft and folks exploiting browser
capabilities with spyware. With the 10+ outstanding exploits for IE
which can exploit the local machine irrespective of Internet zones or
user permission level. http://secunia.com/product/11/

While all of the browsers I am aware of have security flaws (unaware of
any lynx vulnerabilities), any browser that allows anonymous compromise
of the local machine is unacceptable.
