Default Virus & registry help

I have Win ME and AVG Ver 6.

I had the VBS.Redlof virus. I removed it by going into safe mode, doing a
full system scan and putting the infected files into quarantine. However,
the virus seems to have made changes to the registry.
I looked on a website and it told me what fields in the registry had been
changed, and what they had been changed to. However, it does not tell me
what they were before the virus altered them so I have no way of knowing
what to change them back to.
Is there some way of automatically reversing the changes the virus made to
the registry? Maybe a free piece of software is available?

Now that I have removed the files infected with VBS.Redlof but still have
the changes in the registry, is my PC safe from the virus or am I still at
risk?

I hope someone is able to help me.

I appreciate any information or advice given.

Thanks!!

Did you make a backup of your registry? Chances are slim that you did.
If you haven't chances are high you're screwed. You could do a search
for the individual registry keys or perhaps you could wait until
something else screws up and cross reference the key to the piece of
software of app that's screwing up, then try to fix it.

In any event, not backing up your registry is bad, mmm k?

Win ME does it automatically all the time, you just need to
roll it back to before the virus.

Even /98 makes a backup of the registry each day automatically.
