Default New IDS, Firewall, other Updates Available

This is just to let Kerio, DNSKong, IDS, and other security and
privacy-conscious folks know that new updates are available for
download. I know this update is so soon after the last one but the
CoolWebSearch spyware/trojans are exploding across the net. The worst
part is, this trojan cannot be stopped by simply disabling ActiveX
downloads; Java Virtual Machine must either be patched or removed.
(Use Sun's Java instead, it's more secure.) Incidentally, CWShredder
is the only reliable removal tool for this trojan.

Needless to say, I've added detections for different strains of CWS to
the Snort IDS rulesets for network admins and also to the regular,
textual firewall blocklist. I did NOT add individual strains to the
Kerio rulesets since those rulesets are pretty much full and there
wasn't enough "room" to get them to fit. I did, however, add some
Pilosoft and CWS "home site" filters, that should stop some strains
from installing and which should alert you to CWS' presence if it
already installed.

Of course, a new DNSKong blocklist is available too. Only one new
thing on it though.

They're at http://www.geocities.com/yosponge
(Thanks to those who pointed out that I haven't included it in
previous posts about updates, but, ya know, it is in my sig...Thanks
though.)

BTW, I WILL be adding XP-specific instructions for securing XP and
2000 systems to the How-To section. It'll be done soon, hopefully
before Christmas.
