Has anybody else had problems with the above. It is designed for those of
us who don't use Outlook Express/Outlook and uses an independent e-mail client. I have found that eight times out of ten it takes absolutely ages for the retrieval of my mail. For anyone who uses it you will know there is an extra avg icon in the system tray when the mail is incoming. This icon spins round, presumably as it is scanning. This can go on for anything up to 15 minutes so I end up either just reading my mail direct from Mailwasher, or changing to my "unaltered settings" account with no virus scan. I have e-mailed the address it gives in the read me file but had no reply. -- He said, "It is finished." Not "I am finished." Sue Doo Nym |

I've never had this behavior with AVG, and tend to think this IS for Lookout users, as it is the only mail proggy I know that opens attachments by default. donutbandit |

I use the plug in you talk about. It is of course for POP mail and not web
mail. I have not noticed the problems you are having but to me it sounds more like they are connection problems to the email server than the actual scanning of the mail as it is delivered. Maybe you could try downloading it again and installing it over the the existing. I am not an expert -- just opinionated. Colonel Kernel@sys32.com |
