In another group someone is posting through Google and he says that he
can munge his NTTP Posting Host. Certainly it changes and he seems to be able to make it what he wants, so it's more than just a dynamic IP. Can anyone tell me how this is done when posting through Google? Nelle v.d. Milde |

In which other newsgroup? What was the post's title and author? I'd be curious to see that poster's headers to see if they really did manage to forge the NNTP-Posting-Host header (presuming it is not THEIR news server to modify) or if they just inserted a bogus one. If they can indeed forge the NNNTP-Posting-Host header then I'd expect to see a value that wasn't even an IP name or IP address. -- __________________________________________________ __________ *** Post replies to newsgroup. great unwashed masses gathered in alt.computer.security: > In another group someone is posting through Google and he says that he > can munge his NTTP Posting Host. Just go to Google through a proxy and post. You can see in this message. The IP here is a proxy and not mine. I bet the guy was just using different proxies. The Saint |
