on my interface ethernert1, I've got a vlan configured
the IF IP configuration is : 192.168.10.1/27 (.10.0 -> .10.31)
the Vlan conf is : 192.168.10.40/27 (.10.32 -> .10.63)

I've allowed all icmp trafic from inside network

From an inside host, I can ping 192.168.10.1 but no response from 192.168.40

Why ?
Does VLAN not act as a real network ?

You say "no response from 192.168.40", but you have no 192.168.40 subnet,
so it looks like that might be a typo for 192.168.10.40 .

If so then you are trying to ping the 192.168.10.40 PIX interface from
a different network. The PIX does not allow you to ping any
PIX interface other than the "closest".
