Default Browser Screenshots

I was looking for a way to check sites in Win IE 5 (saw something
alarming on a Win 95 box I was visiting last night). Tried a link
from <
http://www.donotremove.co.uk/weblog/...eenshot-sites/ >
(which suggested "IECapture: Free, run by Dan Vine, shows
screenshots on Iexplorer 4.01-6.0", but that link, <
http://www.danvine.com/iecapture/ >, does not exactly say which
IE and I suspect 6.

Actually, if you look at the very bottom of the page (and which is also
noted in the link from Dan's other screenshot engine, iCapture), it's
using IE7 public beta 2.

I see it has a link to 7, that's all, it does not say on my
version here it is using it. I am not saying it is unreasonable
to assume this but it is a leap... on the icapture page it
explicitly says "iCapture uses OS X 10.4.4 running Safari 2.0.3
(417." There is no equivalent statement to do with 7 on the
ieCapture page.

Anyway, the main point is this: it sure as hell is not using IE 5
because the alarming things I saw do not appear.

Looks like I better get IE 5 for my Winbox on 98 (it has 6).

Yes, thanks, I think I used it up before once. Just once in a
blue moon I need it...

No matter... For anyone who might have Win IE5, is there any
known issue of a left or right border showing up in an inline
list? One way to make a separator is to put border-left: 1px
black solid; for the list items. IE 5 on a Win 95 box surprised
me in not showing this border... I better look into it...

You can always go to <http://browsers.evolt.org/> and get yourself a
copies of the older versions. You can also get IE7. I have IE3, IE4,
IE5.2, IE5.5 and IE7 installed running separately
<http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2005/12/28/434132.aspx> will
tell you how to do it.

Yes, but I am on a Mac and it is not always convenient to fire up
Win box...

But, remind me please, you are able to install IE different
versions on a PC and run them ok, one at a time of course? No
probs installing different versions?

which has IE5 absent... and so not useful to me in specific
situation I mentioned.

But interesting anyway, thanks. I was struck by the "wait times",
eg. checking one site (it made no difference which site)

The following jobs were added to the queue:

Estimated queue time
MSIE*6.0

MSIE*7.0*Beta

Safari*2.0

The following jobs were rejected because the queue is longer than
60 minutes:

Oh yes, they are all happily living on my PC, all can be open at the same
time. Just install them separately.
