adhoc causes reboot to take about 3 times as long

If I create a wireless adhoc SSID it causes my PC to take a LONG time to boot
up... Like it's trying to connect to something??? As soon as I delete the
adhoc network configuration (or disable my wireless adaptor) then it reboots
quickly as normal... I'm using XP Pro with a built in wireless adapter...
Does anyone know how to fix this?
