I have a wireless router a desktop pc which connects via lan and a laptop.
Everything on the laptop works fine and on the desktop for that matter until I install sp2 (I have it on seperate cd) at which point my lan adaptor on my desktop displays a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark init. When I move the mouse over it, it says limited or no connectivity. I've tried repair but it doesn't work. When I look at it's ip address it says unable to allocate 0.0.0.0. I've reformated the drive and installed windows xp. The network works fine again, then the minute I install sp2 I get this problem. I've even changed motherboards and reinstalled windows and again everything works until sp2. I've tried 3 different pci network adaptors instead of using the built in adaptor but still I get this problem. In all 5 cases the network adaptor was working fine according to device manager even after sp2 and I was able to transfer files between 2 pc using net bios instead of tcp/ip any suggestions would be appreciated martin martin |
