If so, which way is most effective on both cost and time. I am/was a
hardware-design geek for longtime (20 years) ... Going back to school is not my pleasure, I have no choice but making a career change. It is not a joke, your serious, honest advices are very appreciate. My umemployment benefit was cut a long time ago... so the Bush's Administration can claim national unemployment rate is lowest in years .... while my job or similar was sent to India, China.... I feel your pain. If you decide you want to get into this misbegotten field, and are capable of home study, then get yourself a fairly up to date pc with a couple gigs of RAM, then use VMWare or MS Virtual PC(both freeware now), get some books and study, build and break network scenarios, take the tests, and hope to ghod that when you are done you can find a job that will pay better than $10 per hr. Honestly, I'd advise getting into something else, like nursing, they can't outsource nurses. If you can't stay away from our little electronic friends, self study is the least expensive way of doing MCSE, next would be going to a community college or the like. Stay away from the various Cert factories that promise the moon and a guaranteed job, etc. they are ripoffs. Bootcamps are useless unless you are already skilled in the software, and just need a top-off before taking the exams. Good luck. Ok, there's my good deed for the week, someone pass me a beer! -- JaR MCNGP #22 Remove hat to reply Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. JaR |

Due to complaints from the low level staffers at the White House, they are requesting that all such letters now be written on the following: http://www.charmin.com/chm_gateway.htm Please use water soluble ink, one of the secretaries has an allergy and is getting a rash on her bum. -- JaR MCNGP #22 Remove hat to reply Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. My interpretation is the MCSE only helps people with IT with experience to keep their jobs a litle bit longer than non-IT experience folks like me ? Thank for your feedback. Yeah, or get your resume past the filters so you can apply for some entry level position. -- JaR MCNGP #22 Remove hat to reply Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. JaR |

I heard some Congresscritter on the news just today bellyachin' about people who say there's inflation. He said that there was NO inflation in the US economy right now at all! Because, even though Fuel costs have caused price increased in almost every area, one of the indicators of inflation, the Wage Index, was FALLING! That's right, wages are falling in the US, therefore there is no inflation! What a fsckwit. No, unemployment is being held in check, alright, there's lotsa jobs at Wal-Mart. -- JaR MCNGP #22 Remove hat to reply Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. JaR |

@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl: > Which is why all you need on your resume is the phase "Working on MCSE > certifiction". MCSE picked up by the search, ya baby! Just type "MCSE CCNA CNA etc" over and over again in 1pt font and use it to underline your header. Works even better. -- JaR MCNGP #22 Remove hat to reply Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. JaR |
