Default Wireless card connect, no access to Internet or ping the gateway

Have a good working knowledge however this is frustrating. I have a
laptop that can connect to the same router by LAN cable, however, if I
try by wireless card it connects and gets an IP. However, I cannot
ping the gateway or any other device. Cannot get on the Internet
either. Have tried differant working wireless cards.

Any clues!!

Hi

First make sure that the Wireless card is installed correctly and has it own
configured TCP/IP Stack.

If it seems that the setting are correct then read this,
http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html

And this.

Wireless, Basic Configuration: http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Config.html

Wireless Security - http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Security.html

Tried all that, have test winsock, set metrix, LSP.
Can still ping localhost and 127.0.0.1 net share fine,

enabled udp on 135.136.138 7 139 no joy, removed an app MRTG has some
success however, back to ping only local. still no internet??

What sort of connection are you going through? See, normally the router IS
the gateway. Eg, if your router wants IP address 192.168.0.1 and you are
using DHCP (which you are by what you said) then you would get address
192.168.0.2 or higher. Thus, if you were 192.168.0.2 or higher, your gateway
would always be 192.168.0.1 where you have a simple router wireless
modem/router. If you have a router that is a wireless router only and
plugged in with the ADSL modem (I assume it to be that without you saying so
for the sake of argument) then it sounds like you haven't set it up right.
Eg, is your modem giving out 10.1.1.* numbers and your router 192.168.0.*
numbers? In that case the gateway would be the modem's number. What it
sounds to me like you are doing is attaching the cable to the MODEM and it
isn't also a wireless router in the one unit and then expecting to attach to
a wireless gateway without it being set up correctly.

I know I may be dead wrong which is why I ask for more details.
