gridview calendar in edit mode

I have an editable gridview that I want to add a calendar to in edit
mode, but I don't want it to change the formatting of the rest of the
row. Is it possible to perhaps add an imagebutton which when clicked
will open up a calendar for editing on top of the gridview rather than
inside it?

Any help would be really appreciated!
