Default SIP & kphone vs. Skype

Hi,

I have Skype and kphone (using SIP) on my Linux box installed. With Skype
the Communication is OK. Using kphone I can understand my dialog partner
well but my voice is transfered in a "whale-style" (like Dori in Finding
Nemo).

I have a 2 Mbit downstream and 256 kbit upstream connection. is this to weak
for SIP base communication. Or might be the SIP server the bottleneck????

Thanx
Steffen
