Help! I'm all but ready to give up.

Hi
My internet connection is constantly disconnecting. Maximum time connected
approximately 3 minutes tops.
I use Zone Alarm. It goes off all the time. So much so that I have to turn
the alerts off. Most common alert I get is pinging. Have talked to ISP. They
haven't been of any help at all. My phone lines are fine. My modem is a
Lucent WinModem. I am using Windows ME. There's no viruses as far as I and
my virus scanner know of.

Did you think to check to see if that little box in the OE Tools/Options
screen that says "hang up after downloading mail" somehow got ticked?
