Default Security and Performance over Wireless LAN

I concern about security and performance over LAN. I know there are some
encryption used in WLAN (WEP, TKIP, etc) for security. Of course,
decrypting and decrypting take CPU time. I want to know how these processes
affect performance? Can someone give me an overview? Thank you.

The encryption/decryption is done by the wireless hardware

Wireless works very well

And most wireless security implementations used in commercial appliances
can be cracked in about 1 hour, give or take, depending on the CPU
performance of the machine doing the work.

Common wireless systems are insecure.
