There seems to be some DVD that can hold 6 to 8 hours of 352 x 240
resolution programs. However, whenever I drag some mpg files from VCD to the Sonic MyDVD Maker or the Mac iDVD software, they all encode the video as 640 x 480 and therefore only can fit 2 hours into a 4.7GB DVD-R. There must be some software that can fit 6 to 8 hours of 320 x 240 type of mpg files into a single DVD, without much quality loss. But which program can do that? Maybe the VCD mpg is not so popular after all. I can play the VCD from a VCD set top player and use a DVD set top recorder to record it in the 6 or 8 hour mode. But it seems that there is big quality loss... and it is not so digital... there seems to be methods to use several shareware software tools to create such a disc. Isn't there a standalone software package that can do that? Just drag and drop the files and come back hours later to have the DVD ready? winterheat@gmail.com |
