Cisco 2820 Switch Console Issues

I have a 2820 switch. It is an old model. The console connection on
the switch is a male DB9. I already know what everyone is thinking...
"Here we go again." I have connected with a striaght serial from PC to
console. I get first menus followed by the dreaded ATQ0H0 / ATQ0Z0
combination. I have changed to null using a DB9 null adapter, but that
produces no output. (This switch has to be an original 2820)

I have heard some stories about a grand junction cable. Does anyone
have a clue if that is what I need, and if so, how is it made?

Thanks,
Will
